Chenna and Peas Tikki | Yummy Kids recipe

Chenna and Peas Tikki which taste super yummy. This makes a light lunch or dinner. Super healthy and so easy to make. This is a healthy chaat recipe made using peas. The   Tikkis are shallow fried till crispy and then served with green chutney or ketchup.

All You Need Is:

For Stuffing:

  • Peas, crushed – ½ cup
  • Ginger, chilli paste – 2 Tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Lemon juice – 2 Tsp
  • Sugar – a pinch
  • Coriander leaves, chopped – 1 Tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 Tsp
  • Oil – 1 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds – a pinch

For Cake:

  • Chenna – 1 cup ( Homemade Cottage Cheese)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coriander leaves, chopped – 2 Tsp
  • Bengal gram flour – 1 Tsp
  • Oil to shallow fry
  • Cornflour or Maida – for dusting

How to prepare Chenna and Peas Tikki?

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.Chenna and Peas Tikki
  2. Put crushed peas and sauté them for 5 minutes or till all the moisture is dried up. Add all other remaining ingredients, mix well and cook for a minute. Take it in a bowl, keep aside and cool.Chenna and Peas Tikki
  3. Meanwhile, mix chenna, Bengal gram flour, salt and mix well.Chenna and Peas Tikki
  4. Divide into 6 equal parts. Roll and flatten into 2″ rounds.
  5. Divide the pea’s mixture into 6 equal parts and stuff each round into chenna cake.Chenna and Peas Tikki

  7. Dust with little corn flour or maida.
  8. Shallow fry them and put them on the tissue paper to soak the extra oil.Chenna and Peas Tikki
