Magic Rice Balls – Healthy Kids recipe

Magic Rice Balls are yummy and healthy option for breakfast. Children and adults love these rice balls.

Magic Rice Balls

All you need is:

  • 1 cup cooked rice (chawal)
  • 1/4 cup cooked sweet corn kernels (Makai Dana)
  • 1/2 cup any par boiled Mixed Vegetable (we used Carrot, Beans, Capsicum)
  • 2 tbsp Corn-flour or Plain Flour Maida
  • 2-3 Green Chilies (Optional)
  • Ginger
  • Chat Masala Powder 
  • Red Chilly Powder (As required)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs for rolling
  • 2 tsp Corn Flour mixed in 1/4 cup water
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • Salt as per taste
  • For Serving
  • Tomato Ketchup
  • Green Coriander – Mint Chutney (Optional)

How to do?

  1. Mix sweet corn, rice, green chillies, mixed vegetables, ginger, transfer to a grinder and grind once or twice.Magic rice balls
  2. Do not over grind to paste. Also, do not add any water (This mixture has to be thick as dough)
  3. Once the mixture is ready to mix salt, red chilly powder, chat masala.
  4. Divide this mixture into 10 equal portions and roll each portion into a round ball.magic rice balls
  5. Dip each ball in the prepared corn flour and water mixture and roll in the breadcrumbs till they are evenly coated from all the sides.Magic Rice Balls
  6. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry, a few balls at a time, till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides.Magic Rice Balls
  7. Drain on an absorbent paper.Magic Rice Balls
  8. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.Magic Rice Balls
