Admission Process
Students will be admitted on the following criteria:
- The child’s previous educational background and likely future plans.
- The current balance of the school’s student body.
- Fluency in English or demonstrated capability to learn English as a second language.
- Willingness to abide by MDIS’s purpose and philosophy.
- Demonstrated ability to keep up with the academic standards based on past school records, testing, etc.
If MDIS is the right place for your child, please follow the following steps for admission. Feel free to call for an appointment to see the school’s campus, meet the teachers and principal before enrolling.
Application
All applicants must fill out a complete application form with all questions answered and the requested information attached.
Interview
An appointment will be made with the parents and child for interviews after the child’s records are reviewed.
Testing
A testing appointment for the prospective student is required to evaluate the individual’s academic level and/or English proficiency. The application fee is due at this time. A second appointment may be scheduled if there is concern about possible learning disabilities. If warranted, MDIS may recommend testing by a professional. Testing does not imply acceptance at MDIS.
Acceptance Letter
If the child meets the criteria for acceptance and there is space available in the grade for which the child is applying, the parents will be sent a letter of acceptance and conditions. If a child does not meet the requirements for any reason, a letter of explanation will be sent.
Financial Aid
Parents may apply for financial aid if they believe it is necessary. Aid is not guaranteed. Please see tuition fees and criteria for financial aid.
Registration
Upon receiving the Acceptance Letter (and any Financial Aid confirmation), the Admission Fee (one-off payment) must be paid to confirm the child’s placement in the school and all other forms submitted.
Fees
The first instalment of tuition fees must be paid before starting school.
