Admission Details

Admission Guidelines
Availing of the application Form and registering the candidate does not guarantee admission to St. Karen’s Secondary School.
The candidate must have completed [6] six years as on 31st March of the year of seeking admission for class 1.
The Application Form must be submitted to the school office on the specified dates. Both parents must accompany the candidate for submission of the application Form, verification of the documents and for meeting the Principal.
All the Original Documents should be produced at the time of submission of the application form.
It is the responsibility of the parents to see that the Application Form is complete in all respects. Incomplete / illegibly written/overwritten / lack of supportive documents or certificates will lead to rejection of the Application Form. False documents / incorrect information found at any time, even after admission, will debar the candidate from getting admission or pursuing studies in the school.
One recent passport size photo of the candidate and two passport size family photos [Father, Mother, and Candidate] must be submitted with the application Form.
All documents submitted at any time will become the property of the school and will not be returned.
Selection of the candidate will be done by a committee. No correspondence will be solicited regarding selection and admission of the candidates. Any recommendation, use of influence [direct or indirect], the offer of donation etc. will lead to the cancellation of the application form/Admission of the candidate.
If selected, admission must be taken within the time given for admission. Thereafter the candidate will forfeit the chance for admission. This list will be put up on the School Notice Board.
Preference will be given to the candidates of the following categories who fulfill the other eligibility criteria for admission:
Christian Candidates, children of St. Karen’s High School, Ex-Karenite’s children, siblings of students studying in St. Karen’s and students of the neighborhood.
Photostat copies of the following are to be attached with the Application Form.
Birth Certificate from Municipal Corporation or Panchayat.
Proof of Residence [anyone] :
Ration Card (B) Election Id (C) Current Landline Telephone Bill (D) Current Electricity Bill.
Photocopy of the school Identity Card of the sibling studying in St.Karen's and photocopy of the report card of the previous class.
Caste Certificate if (SC, ST, OBC) (for statistical purpose only)
In the course of a student’s tenure in the School or at the time of admission, should it come to light that a parent has concealed the fact that the child is suffering from any physical or mental disability or communicable and contagious disease or any serious ailment, then the School reserves the right to cancel the admission or to order the withdrawal of such a student.

Readmission
Readmission will only be done as per rules and orders of the Principal, provided a seat is available and only on
payment of Rs.1000/- which is the school’s readmission fee plus dues if any.

Withdrawals
The intended withdrawal of a pupil should be made known to the Principal in writing one month [i.e.30days] in advance or one month’s fees will be charged, in lieu thereof. The same applies to bus fees. Further, those who leave the school in May must pay the fees for June as well. If a child has not attended school for 10 consecutive days during any term without the school authority being in receipt of any written requests from the parents or guardians, it will be presumed that he/she has left the school and the name will be struck off the rolls and the vacancy duly filled up. Readmission could be done if the seat is available on the express permission of the Principal. In which case, Rs.1000/- as readmission fee will have to be deposited plus all dues if any.

Parents paying fees in the bank but not informing the School in writing of the child’s long absence will not be exempted from the name of the child being struck off the record of the School.

PAYMENT OF FEES
This includes tuition fees, term fees, bus fees, library fees, science fees, computer fees etc.
All fees are to deposited bimonthly in advance.
Fees will only be accepted on all working days of the bank, except Saturdays and Holidays from the 1st to the 15th of the first Bi-monthly month without any late fee fine.
Fees once again will be accepted in the following month from 1st to the 15th, but since fees are being paid behind schedule, late fee fine of Rs.50/- will have to be deposited, along with the fees.
If anyone installment of fees is pending then the student’s name will automatically be struck off the rolls. In which case the child will have to be detained at home until all dues are deposited. This will comprise of : 
A- The late fee fine of Rs. 50/- for each month. 
B- READMISSION CHARGE of RS.1000/- 
C- The School fees that are due including bus fees.
The rules as regards the late-fee fine are strictly enforced by the bank and should be adhered to. No request to condone the same for various reasons will be entertained. Every student is provided with a bill book. This book must be produced at the time fees are being deposited. Parents/guardians must ensure that this book is duly filled when paying fees.
No reduction of fees is made for holidays or broken periods
ANY CHILD WHO HAS ANY OUTSTANDING DUES AT THE TIME OF ANY TERMINAL OR FINAL EXAMINATION will not be allowed to sit for the examinations.
No student will be allowed to return to the school until all outstanding accounts of the previous term have been settled in full.
No T.C. will be issued until and unless financial obligations to the School are paid in full.
Fees once paid will not be refunded.
FEES AND OTHER CHARGES ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION AS PER DECISION OF THE MANAGEMENT.
PART PAYMENT OF FEES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
