St Michael’s, DPS among 4 in interschool soccer semis

PATNA: St Michael’s High School (Team A), Litera Valley School, International School and Delhi Public School on Friday qualified for the semi-finals of the 10th St Ignatius of Loyola Inter-School Football Tournament hosted by St Michael’s High School on its ground. 

The tournament was inaugurated by senior IPS officer Ratn Sanjay. Nine city schools are participated in the event. Host school rector Fr Seraphim John SJ, principal Fr Armstrong Edison SJ, vice-principal Fr Francis Chinnappan SJ and headmistress of primary wing Vishakha Sinha were present on this occasion. The four-day tournament will conclude on July 30.

Van Mahotsav: Around 125 students participated in a gala celebration of Van Mahotsav organized by NGO Tarumitra on its premises on Friday. 

Tripurari planted a rare sapling of Bangalore Violet at the Panchvati forest of Tarumitra. Students of Delhi Public School gifted asparagus sapling with a beautifully painted earthen pot to him. Tarumitra founder Fr Robert Athickal and other members, including Margaret Molomoo, Devopriya Dutta, Shashi Darshan and D N Prasad besides volunteers were present on the occasion.

De-addiction programme: DG (Bihar Military Police) Gupteshwar Pandey highlighted the demerits of drug and liquor addiction during a de-addiction programme organized at DAV Public School (BSEB Colony) on Thursday. 

Students of Class XI and XII attended the event. School principal VS Ojha and the school’s teachers were present at the programme.

CNLU: Academics and legal experts stressed the need of some scientific mechanism for successful implementation of various public policies. 

The participants at the two-day workshop organized by the academic and debating committee of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) observed that all aspects related to a project or policy must be taken into consideration before formulating any policy document.

CNLU vice-chancellor justice (retd) Mridula Mishra and registrar M P Srivastava and Jindal Global Business School representative Rajesh Chakrabartyamong others addressed the workshop. 

LNMI: The first batch of Entrepreneurship Training Programme under CM SC/ST Entrepreneurship Scheme concluded at the LN Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change on Friday. 

The valedictory session was presided over by institute’s director N Vijya Laxmi. She handed over the certificates to the trainees and budding entrepreneurs.
