A Fond Ode To All Teachers And The Art Of Teaching

Nostalgic Gratitude:

Let’s take a moment apart for a simple yet essential contemplation. Now let’s look at the world around us. There are things around us that appeal to our perceptions and the rest touch our comprehension in some way or the other. On the bigger picture, as a human society and humanity, in general, we as individuals owe everything that we are today to one of the most forgotten yet noblest of people -Teachers. Often undermined, forgotten and underestimated. This selfless, uplifting and noble profession of teaching is the core source of everything productive and innovative in a society and the world itself on a larger scale. Don’t we owe them a Fond Ode To All Teachers?

It is the time we recognize how much gratitude we owe back to our teachers who played an imperative role in chiselling and constantly working towards the herculean task of educating and creating fruitful people all across the world. The world is a vast basket of resources to us and when we are well trained professionally and personally, we, in turn, become a resource to the world and can progressively work towards its betterment. No profession could accomplish this task of completing the circle of human and resource development than teaching does. It perhaps wouldn’t strike us at first thought but on deeper contemplation, we begin to realize how fundamental teachers are in improving not only an individual but the quality of human beings as a resource. Their job not only lies in educating us but also looking towards our significant progress and attitudinal development.

Picturing Yourself As A Student:

It flashes to you now, somewhere in the back of your mind that is connected to a deep reservoir of memories. You begin picturing yourself as a student, the faint laughter, the scent of sand, the surprisingly clear memory of a teacher’s voice you perhaps disliked back then because she yelled at you that one time or gave you an extended timeout. How could her teaching possibly have an impact on you today, you wonder. Yet some part of your heart concurs with the fact that she once was your teacher and definitely helped you level up back then even though it hardly matters today. That’s what teaching is all about at the end of the day.

Teaching is a selfless and truly noble profession that is dedicated to step by step levelling-up of people yet instilling potential in them that will one day zoom them up to zeniths. That is something each one of us realize at some point in life and it is that moment that our hearts fill up with a sense of the truest gratitude for our teachers. You look at how far you’ve come and then look back at the times when you wanted to be so many things, when you didn’t know what to do, when you were young and angry and yet, your teacher stood by you and genuinely believed in you ( even though she called you a hopeless case once).

Teachers are artists:

Teachers are artists and teaching is an art. When you teach a person, irrespective of the subject matter, You take into your hands a certain portion of a person and chisel it leaving behind an impact that can be transforming to the person. You take into your hands a certain kind of responsibility of upgrading the thinking quality of a student and enhancing his or her individuality. It involves recognising a student’s potential, unleashing and encouraging their inborn talents and imparting a sense of discretion. Sounds so sophisticated and challenging, doesn’t it? Well, That’s what your teachers did for you for ten odd years

It qualifies in the truest to say that you are a work of art. We all are incredible pieces of art with distinct and colourful temperaments. With this insight under the light, it is the time we repay our teachers and their years of teaching with tons of gratitude and returning the goodwill they so generously gave us once. Let’s be old school about this because that’s where we all started once, didn’t we? Drop by your school with a giant bouquet or a box of sweets and meet your teachers.

Reconnect With Them:

Reconnect with them from the school alumni and let them know how their presence has evidently played a positive role in the person you are. Make a small celebration of their years of hard work on you in your own little way because letting a person know that they’ve made a difference is very important to thing to do and it is something we’ve forgotten the importance of. Teaching is one such thing that we tend to forget and teachers, the people who change lives and transform people, deserve nothing less than the fondest gratitude and heartfelt acknowledgements for making our school days our golden days.
