Sabudhana Kichidi | Healthy And Tasty Kids Recipe

Sabudhana Kichidi:

Sabudhana Kichidi is made from soaked Sabudhana (pearl tapioca) and is typically prepared in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujrat. But with its growing popularity, the whole of India is now eating this delicious super easy dish. So if you are in an area where you don’t get this dish you can follow my easy step by step recipe of soaking the Sabudhana to the final product which is mouthwatering Sabudhana Kichidi(Upma).

Ingredients:

Sabudahana 250gm(Soak it overnight)

Jeera  1/2 TBSP

Mustard seeds 1/2TBSP

Curry leaves

Potato 1 – small(Chopped)

Onion 1 – small

Fried peanut powder  2TBSP

Green chillies – 2

Red chilli – 1

Salt to taste

Pinch of turmeric powder

Procedure:

  1. Take a bowl and add Sabudhana and water into that bowl, take water ratio at the same level of Sabudhana.
    (Note: Don’t add more water)

  2. Take one pan and add some oil, after oil getting heated add mustard seeds, jeera, red chilli, curry leaves.

  3. Dry roast the peanuts. I used the already skinned ones, but you can use the ones with skin, rub them with your hands (after roasting) and peel the skins.

  4. Cool them a bit and then drop them to your food processor.

  5. Grind them to a fine powder keep it aside.

  6. And add chopped onion, green chillies, chopped potato pieces cook this up to 10min and then add a pinch of turmeric powder, fried peanut powder and salt to taste.

  7. If required add coriander leaves(optional).

       8.Yummyy.!! Sabudhana Kichidi is ready.
